Patchwork quilt
Patchwork quilt made in the early 1800s in Ystradfellte, Brecknockshire. Maker unknown.
Top cover of small patterned cotton prints in rectangles and triangles with a border of large triangles. Plain linen backing. Quilting pattern consists of a central circular motif with spirals surrounded by a circle of four large veined leaves. Inner border of triangles filled with spirals. Second border of diamonds and triangles filled with waves. Outer border of semi-circles filled with spirals and edged with four leaf motifs.
