S.S. ANDRIAN (5372gt). Built 1923 as CLAUS RICKMERS by Norderwerft AG, Wesermunde, for Rickmers Reederei, Hamburg. 1945 – Damaged by Allied bombing at Larvik, Norway, on 9th January, she was salvaged and towed to Bergen for repairs where she was seized by the Allies as a war prize in May of that year, ownership being passed on to MoWT. 1947 – Following completion of the repair work, she was renamed EMPIRE CARRON. She was then sold to S.G. Embiricos Ltd., London, and renamed ANDRIAN. 1949 – Sold to Compagnia Navigazione Yaviza, Panama, and renamed SAN NICOLAS. She arrived at La Spezia in December 1964 for breaking up.
