Medieval silver signet ring

Silver signet ring, now incomplete ( part of hoop missing). It has a flat, circular bezel for the matrix, which has the form of a round-petalled quatrefoil within pellets in the inter-leaf spaces, within a single circular rope border. The shoulders are demarcated by simple transverse grooves, and the upper part of the hoop is decorated with triple vertical ridges and a random and unevenly punched pattern of open circles, presumably inttended to represent pellets/pearls. A traansverse groove and two hatched dashes below this indicate a change in the lower hoop decoration. The bezel and shoulders show some wear.
