Plate of pale creamware, plain circular shape with flat base, curved sides and spreading slightly curved rim; decorated in the centre of the well with a transfer print depicting a three-masted ship in sail with painted pennant, leaving a castellated building with tower and flagpole in the left distance, at the bottom the inscription 'GOING INTO PORT', the rim painted with a broad black line round the outer edge and a thin black line round the inner edge. Crack in the rim at 3 o'clock.
