Edward Medal (mines)
Edward medal awarded to Bert Craig for his rescue of a workman named Jones, buried by a heavy roof fall underground at Nixon's Navigation Colliery, Mountain Ash, on 14 November 1922.
The Edward medal was later replaced by the George Cross. Recipients were invited to exchange their medals for the George Cross medal. The Museum also holds Bert Craig’s George Cross (Accession No. 88.18H/1)
