Roman copper alloy Trumpet brooch
The trumpet head terminates in a rather box like plate with a narrow upward extension and chain loop, slightly set back. Spring recessed into bead and held by an axis bar through two lugs. Bow only decorated on front. Has narrow button with two grooves, on either side of which are slight ridges. Foot ends in a grooved, rather square terminal knob. The bow is very thin.
In two joining pieces, broken above button. The pin is missing and lower part of bow is twisted. Over all preservation is excellent.
