Shop sign
Closing down sale sign from the Cowbridge Road East, Cardiff, branch of Woolworths. Red and blue background rectangular shop sign with white and yellow writing (front) with red border and yellow background (back) with black writing.
Woolworths stores were integral to many Welsh high streets throughout the 20th century, and had a special place in the hearts of many people. Faced with huge debts when the recession started in 2007, they were forced into administration, and the last store closed on 9 January 2009.
