Roman copper alloy Trumpet brooch
A large lug projects at the rear to support the spring, but there is no means of securing the internal chord. The trumpet head has a lobed margin. The bow is largely plain, the upper part has a central longitudinal ridge. The waist knob is flanked by two thin plain mouldings. Above and below is a shallow groove which separates it from transverse mouldings each consisting of two simple, ill-defined lobes. The lower part of the bow tapers to a stepped foot.
