Doll
Doll with papier-mâché head and shoulder plate – a ‘pumpkin head’. The glass eyes are black and without pupils. The fair hair is moulded and decorated with a blue ribbon. The eyebrows were painted onto the papier-mâché before waxing. The doll’s torso is stuffed with straw, with wooden arms and legs. These are small in proportion to the doll’s height and size of the head.
Clothing: The doll wears a pink and gold shot silk dress with three clear glass buttons and a silk bow tied round the waist, the neck and hem are trimmed with lace. The doll wears a linen petticoat and crinoline. The boots are painted on.
