Figure of Queen Mary riding side saddle on a horse, white earthenware with a crackle glaze, on an oval base inscribed in gilt raised capitals. In historic dress, well coloured, wearing a long yellow skirt patterned with orange dots and green and brown sprigs, a pink bodice with flounced elbow length sleeves and outlined in purple, naturalistically painted face, black hair and a soft hat with a pink and a green plume and and a long green veil behind her. Seated facing viewer with right hand resting on thigh and holding black reins, left arm bent across chest, light brown coloured horse stepping on a green and brown base, black hooves, tail and mane, green girths, orange saddle.
