Typed notes copied from Western Mail Industrial Supplement of 13 July 1923 titled "Engineering Notes. The World's First Locomotive" by Professor F. Bacon. (president of South Wales Institute of Engineers, 1937). Notes include extract of a letter, dated 27 January 1872, by Mr Menelaus in which he records how he found Rees Jones a former workman who had assisted Trevithick in fitting up the locomotive and was able to provide a description of the engine and it's working history.
Label has been numbered '4' by C.T. Allan who sent a typewritten note to accompany the papers, see related material file.
