Seal impression: Lincoln
A representation of an imposing castle of five embattled towers; each having a quatrefoil opening and bearing a spire topped by ? a weather vane. The two side-towers have additionally below the quatrefoil, a grid opening. The portcullis at the gate is half-closed. To either side of the gate is a large circular opening. Above the gate is a shield: on a cross a fleur-de-lis, CITY OF LINCOLN. In field, six fleurs-de-lis, one to either side of the castle and one between each pair of spires.
