Early Medieval pottery bowl
A beaded rim from a bowl with a drooping flange perhaps derived ultimately from a sigillata form like Drag. 38. Soft orange-pink fabric markedly porous in fracture, with rare and minute white grits and other more common brown inclusions. Faitn traces of a slip only slightly darker than the fabric are preserved in places, though the sherd is otherwise rahter abraded. A characteristic Late Roman B form apparently of 5th C or later. Fulford form 47.2; fabric A1
