Seal impression: Rochester
Reverse. The martyrdom of St Andrew, patron saint of the city. The apostle, bearing a twelve-foiled nimbus and wearing a robe girdled at his waist, is being tied with cords to his saltire cross by two men each wearing pointed shoes, a loose tunic and a hood covering the head and chin (perhaps after the fashion of executioners).
