Iron Age copper alloy strainer
Incomplete, highly fragmentary, highly corroded (md find 11). This artefact is the most fragmentary but one section of its rolled rim and small fragments of its bowl retaining patterns of holes in circular arrangements suggest that it was similar in for to the Langstone and Manorbier strainers. The rim fragment (LLTR 19 (2)) was analysed using pXRF and found to give a surface reading of copper and tin with some lead. This is consistent with the alloy composition below the surface corrosion being a bronze, with some lead.
