Site Name: St Maelog's Church, Llandyfaelog-Fach
Notes: In the earliest record (Archaeologia, 1770, p.304) the location of the original stone is described as serving "to cover a low wall contiguous to the outside south wall of the [parish] church". It may then have been moved inside the church for, according to church records, it was "moved from the inside of the steeple to the wall of the Penoyre vault [i.e. back into the churchyard] during the nineteenth century" (correspondence with J.Lewis, February 1985). The stone was finally moved back into the church c.1952, where it is now fixed against the north wall of the tower arch.
