Flatter
A piece of wrought iron, rectangular in cross section, that seems to have been used in conjunction with a hammer to flatten or shape thin metal. One end has clearly been deformed by being struck repeatedly with a hammer. The item came as part of accession 56.7, the contents of a clogmaker's workshop, but was never fully accessioned at the time. (GB 28/6/13)
