Bolero
Dusty pink crepe bolero, worn for a wedding with amatching dress and hat. Short cropped bolero, collarless, no fastening at front edges. Long close-fitting sleeves, gathered at shoulder and fastened at wrist with three covered buttons and crepe fabric loops.
Worn by Doris Bamford on her wedding to Colin Berry, 9 September 1941 at the Congregational Church, Rhos on Sea. A notice in the local newspaper described the bride as being "attired in a dress of alpine pink with hat and shoes to match, and wore a spary of roses and white heather." Wartime weddings were usually low-key events, often organized in haste to coincide with a period of leave from the military.
