Plate, hard-paste porcelain, circular, footring; on the rim is painted a basket of flowers which encircle the central reserve, the central reserve is painted with a large number four in black enamel above which is painted 1917-1921, the edge is painted with a pink border and two gold line borders, inscribed around the rim are the words II[joined by a vertical line across the top]POV[inverted] ETAPN[inverted]N[inverted]-BCEX-CTPAH-COEAN[inversed]R[inversed]N[inversed]TEC6.

Celebrating the fourth anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917, the Russian slogan reads ‘Proletariat of All the World Unite’. At a time of famine and civil war in Russia, the basket of flowers with an ear of wheat suggests that all is well.
