Baker, Bevans and Irwin, Glamorgan Pottery (1813-1839)
Jug, whitish earthenware, standing on a spreading rounded foot, pear-shaped body composed of eight flat panels, a band of reeding to the lower body, a raised band at the shoulder, rounded neck with raised spout, high loop handle with raised thumb-spur, further spurs lower down and ribbed moulding to the lower terminal, each panel of the body decorated with applied ornaments of alternating acanthus leaves and small flowers on stalks in a pale brown clay, sprigs of flowers and leaves in the same clay to either side of the spout; the jug covered in a clear glaze.
