Roman copper alloy T shaped brooch
Semi-cylindrical cross-bar with two double mouldings on each side. The head of the bow, which is flat beneath, has an interrupted central ridge, reminiscent of an earlier hook for catching the chord of the spring. The summit of the bow has narrow grooved side-wings, inner grooves continuing to the foot and a short central ridge with lateral serations inlaid with white enamel. The foot ends in a double raised moulding. The pin was hinged but is wanting. The solid catch-plate is in form a truncated triangle with base curving away into the bow..
