Violet pot
Voilet pot and cover, greyish, and probably hard-paste, porcelain, good clear translucency and colourless glaze; oval body on shallow, slightly recessed foot, sides spreading to waved lip, two upright loop handles with floret terminals; domed cover with flat top and similar loop handle, pierced with a line of ten oval holes alternating with ten smaller round ones; gilt line to the foot, the sides painted with swags and trails of flowers, the handles gilt, the cover with a band of flower and daisy heads, painted around the pierced holes.
