Plain cream woollen blanket with cream blanket stitch across top and bottom widths. Stencilled on surface in black ink are: 'G R' [George Regina with crown between G and R] 'M & S' [could this stand for Military and Service?] and date '1940'. In one corner of blanket a printed cotton label has been stapled with following: 'NATIONAL PRICE CONTROLLED BLANKET / SIZE 66" X 84" WEIGHT 4LBS/ Selling Price to Public including Purchase Tax / 39/6 / This label must not be removed before purchase by the public. Vide Section 1 (3) of the goods and services (Price Control) Act, 1941'.
