Seal impression: Canterbury
Within a trefoil having a lion passant guardant of ENGLAND in each spandril (cf. C 12), a triple-towered embattled castle, with two small side-towers. In the legend, where the word MAIORIS occurs, there came orignally BALLIVORVM, and that word’s erasure accounts for the subsequent gap now filled by a sprig.
