panelled back settle constructed from various pieces of panelling; the framework with carved channel-moulding and running ornament with carved and raised initials and date : EP: CC:CW: ANO: DC:1663' above a solid seat flanked by shaped arms with turned supports and raised on turned front legs and square back legs; vertical side rails appear to have been sawn off to level with top rail; back panel not related to lower horizontal rail and seat appears to have been previously the lid of an old chest; originally thought to have come from Tregynon Parish Church, Montgomeryshire
