Medieval copper alloy strap end
The strap-end is of crescentic type and is incomplete, missing the back plate, the end of the terminal and an area of the crescent. The missing underplate was secured to the strap and the strap-end by four copper alloy rivets, two of which remain in place. The strap-end has broken through one of the rivet holes. The terminal would have been sub-triangular and has openwork and low-relief decoration, comprising eight-circular holes; the terminal appears to have broken through two holes. The crescent has incised decoration representing the roots of a tree or bush, with the terminal representing the branches and leaves. The surface has a pale green to black patina.
