Coptic pottery lamp
Frog lamp ware, Egyptian lamp. Cream/grey fabric, large black inclusions in otherwise fine clay. Thick walled, deep oval form, with thick rim around the oil hole and slight rim around wick hole. Stubby handle protrudes from rear of rim around oil hole. Bread flat base high rounded sides. Base has incised circle and dot motif. Relief chereron pattern around the outside of the oul hole rim on the shoulder of the lamp joining incised lines coming from the nozzel. Complete.
