Basket, fruit
Fruit basket, pale cream-coloured earthenware with a soft greenish tinge to the glaze, oval shape with flat base and curving sides, the sides perforated to create a basket work pattern, a scalloped edge to the rim, moulded ropework bands around the foot-rim and the exterior middle of the body, to either end of the body twin moulded twig handles; decorated with around the interior and exterior upper body an egg and dart pattern border in black on a brick-red ground, black lines around the foot-rim, exterior middle and the body and the edge of the well, a slightly worn black edge to the rim, the handles picked out in black. A narrow crack to one side of the body.
