Pouch shaped jug, earthenware, standing on an octagonal foot rim, the body, bulbous at the base and ribbed to form broad, slightly convex panels, tapering at the neck, forming an undulating indentation, then flaring to form a wide spouted mouth with an asymmetrically lobed lip rim; high looped ogee handle extending above lip rim with vertical thumb spur, foliate moulding and scrolled lower terminals; the whole covered in a thick deep blue glaze, both on the exterior and interior; the glaze almost black at the points of ribbing, rising in hue to a rich indigo, with paler areas around the moulding to the handle; the glaze crazed in places, the whole with a slightly speckled effect with some pitting.
