Pot-lid
Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Pegwell Bay. Established 1760', showing a coastal scene with a group of houses to either side of a sandy trackway, and several small figures with fishing nets, across one of the buildings is printed the inscription "BELLEVUE", around the bottom of the scene is printed the inscription "PEGWELL BAY. ESTAB---ED 1760.", part of which has worn off, the print enclosed by a narrow circular line border. The flange slightly chipped.
