Jug and cover
Jug, earthenware with a blueish lead glaze, standing on a pedestal foot with inset base, pear shaped body with flared lip, strap handle with oval cross-section, mounted with a pewter rim and hinged cover; each side of the body is colour printed under the glaze with a different scene composed of a variety of naturalistic marine shells and plants, both are over and underpainted with polychrome enamels, the cover has a finial in the form of a dolphin and the handle terminals are in the form of stylised leaves.
