Welsh costume illustration
Print entitled "A Welch Peasant and his Wife". Distributed to commemorate the French Invasion of Fishguard in 1797. The print depicts a man with a round crowned hat, short jacket, waistcoat, kneebreaches and stockings. The woman wears an identical hat, checked gown, arpon and red cloak. The man carries a scythe, and the woman a pitchfork.
