Post-Medieval gold finger ring
Decorative gold and enamel posy ring with engraved floral decoration and inscription
The hoop is of flattened D-shape inc ross section and the outer surface is engraved with a repeating vegetal pattern of stylized flowers and scrolls on a blue enamel background, of patchy survival. The inner face of the hoop is inscribed with the text : forget not the gift, in italic script. There is an oval hall-mark, double-struck amd now indecipherable.
