Tregwynt Hoard (Gold 'posy' ring)
The hoop is rounded on the outside to a flattened 'D' section. the outside is plain and the interior of the band is inscribed in italic script 'Rather death then falce of fayth' and has a punched maker's mark 'EH' within a plain shield. The mark appears to be unascribed. Finger rings of this form were common during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and similar inscriptions exist in various collections. The ring appears never to have been worn and was probably not very old when buried.
