Roman copper alloy fitting
Hinged open-work fitting. The object is the hook element of a hook and eye fastener, although the tapered end and terminal knob which form the hook are missing.The fitting was silvered. Hook and eye fittings were variously used to secure the baldric and the military belt and also served as dagger frogs.
