Notes: "Prehistoric soapstoe axe of triangular form, perforated and sculptured with lines. From the country near Los Angelos, South California, U.S.A. The finder says - 'I find them in graves, & was told by an old Indian they used it as a medicine, heating the stone, they rub sore or lame parts sweating them, and I judge securing the same results as we do by plasters or steaming.' "
