Pap-boat
Pap-boat, earthenware, elongated roughly oval shape, flat base with flattened-off foot-rim, bulbous waved sides, to one end of the pap-boat a slightly raised ridged lobe, to the other end an extended spout; transfer-printed in sage-green with to the exterior sides a landscape scene showing in the foreground a female figure, a child and a dog, in the background buildings on islands across an expanse of water, to the interior bottom of the pap-boat a small scene of trees and a fence, border to the interior lip-rim and spout of flowers and scrolls with a stippled green band.
