box in shape of fan (narrow handle and approximately circular screen), constructed from cardboard which is covered with an inter-layer of paper; inside covered in white tabby woven fabric (linen? / silk?) outside edge and lid covered with light blue silk satin which is painted with two wreaths of foliage and pink, red, yellow and purple blossoms (one wreath surrounding the edge and a small one in the centre); Bottom of box covered with paper which has been painted pink.
