Slate in the mountains (cine film)
Content summary :- Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda film examines slate quarrying at site from blasting to loading on to trucks, then to the sheds where slate blocks were cut ready for sawing on sawing table and thence on to slate splitting. Film also examines Pen-yr-Orsedd Quarry (unmodernised) and shows the four man team "bargain" at the face, transportation to sawing sheds and the splitting and mechanised dressing of slate. Film also shows present day (ie. c1970s) site in decline and ruins.
