Saucer
Saucer for a trembleuse cup, hard-paste porcelain, short cylindrical foot-rim, cylindrical flaring sides around a sunken well, spreading rim; the rim covered with a brown ground in imitation of the grain on wood against which are reserved to either side of the rim two rectangular panels finely painted in black monochrome with shipping scenes, around the scenes are inscriptions which are too small to be legible, the panels enclosed by black borders, black lines around the edge of the well and the edge of the rim, a gilt edge to the rim. The rim chipped and repaired.
