Dress
Nurse's dress worn by Miss Elizabeth H. Edwards (Hettie Edwards) as member of the British Red Cross (Voluntary Reserve) during the Second World War. She was a librarian at the National Museum of Wales, 1931-70.
The dress is made from light blue cotton, with turn-backs on the ends of short sleeves. Rounded collar. Hidden row of centre front button fastening (down to waist). Buttons covered with white fabric. Drawstring on inside of back to gather waist. Two applied pockets and one narrow long (vertical) pocket on left breast (for pen?). Enamelled metal badge pinned to breast pocket.
