Tattoo flash
Knight, Jessie (Jessie Knight was the first prominent female tattooist in the UK. She took over her father's tattoo shop in Barry aged 18 in 1927 and went on to prominence whilst working in Chatham, Portsmouth and Aldershot. She returned to Barry in 1968, and continued to work there as a tattoo artist into the 1980s.)
Tattoo flash on with green and red taped border, featuring images of sailors with the captions ‘Swingin’, ‘Dodgey’, ‘I love me’ and ‘My oppo, Fred’. Flash also includes an image of a fist, a sailor hat with the word ‘hardship’, a buoy at sea with the text ‘Home 3069 mls’ and a bottle of ale with the text ‘True love’. There is also a skull and dagger in the left corner which has been covered with red tape.
