Shell-shaped dessert dish, soft-paste porcelain, good clear translucency, slight grey-green tinge to the glaze, minor specks, pin holes and glaze flaws, including a glaze run terminating in a bubble on the foot rim; folded, triangular handle, upcurving rim moulded in six large and six small lobes; painted in enamels with four large and five small butterflies, predominantly in blue, yellow, brown and red, around a central landscape containing a large partridge-like bird, with a green and black head and neck, red body, and yellow and purple wings, grassy foreground with two young birds, a branch to the right, hills beyond.
