Jug of cream earthenware, standing on an inset base with barrel-shaped body with three turned bands, plain strap handle (broken and repaired, partly in metal) and strap handle across the top; decorated with black underglaze 'Swiss Villa' transfer-printed pattern featuring a fanciful chalet beside a lake in a border of scrolls and flowers (repeated three times), the handles, the inside and outside of the rim and the outside of the foot decorated with underglaze black transfer-printed bands of flowers.
