Roman samian bowl
The carination is marked. The upper zone has a simple scroll with leaf tips and a brid, while the lower zone has a series of double circles containing a large rosette of about eleven petals, alternating with a vertical wavy line with a bifid leaf at each end. The bird is not in Oswald, but is illustrated in Knorr 1919, Taf. 9, 33, and attributed to Aquitanus. The general style is also found on vessels stamped by him.
