Tea bowl and saucer
Tea bowl, soft-paste porcelain, standing on a high tapering foot-rim, rounded curving sides; painted in purple and gilt with a Japanese-style decoration, to the exterior sides of the bowl a banded bamboo hedge issuing spreading flowers and foliage and surrounded by further sprigs of flowers, to the interior bottom of the bowl a single flower, a running border of flowers and foliage to the interior lip-rim. Saucer, soft-paste porcelain, circular shape, standing on a rounded tapering foot-rim, spreading curving sides, decorated in purple and gilt in the same manner as on the tea bowl, with to the centre of the well a banded bamboo hedge issuing flowers and foliage, border to the rim as on the tea bowl.
