Roman copper alloy helmet crest
Bronze helmet crest support, secured to the helmet by a single tongue which slotted into a single-tube support-holder riveted to the centre of the helmet. It had two further arms at the base which extended sideways, originally following the curve of the helmet, to provide greater stability. The crest support was equipped at the top with two bent arms with curled ends.
