Cup, tea and saucer
Octagonal cup and saucer, fine white bone china with good translucency, the cup with inset base, gently rounded sides with distinct octagonal profile and scalloped rim, the handle sharply upcurving at top and sloping down to meet the body, the saucer also octagonal in shape, with scalloped corners; the border of the saucer and beneath the cup rim printed with sillouhetted, stippled effect outdoor scenes in black/very dark brown with a plain painted line forming a border along the bottom edge, at each corner of the saucer and opposing panels around the body of the cup are hand painted with tree sillouhettes in black enamel, these extend to the well on the saucer and the base on the cup, where the roots meet an expanse of solid ground, extending around the saucer's well and around the base of the cup. Between the trees are panels painted in pale yellow, at the top edge of which is a rising sun in red-orange enamel.
