PARRY, William (1742-1791
William Parry trained in London under the fashionable British portrait painter Joshua Reynolds. He maintained a healthy career in Wales, thanks to the support of the Williams-Wynn family of Wynnstay. He was a friend of Thomas Jones, and the son of celebrated harpist, John Parry.

The group of items includes two letters, and the fragment of a third, sent by William Parry to his parents, from Rome 1770-1771 during his first trip to Italy; William Parry's marriage certificate (marriage to Elizabeth Keene, 3 August 1776, in the Parish of St. James, Westminster and various handwritten notes and newspaper cuttings about John and William Parry and the provenance of works by William Parry
