Spill vase
Spill-vase, bone china, standing on a spreading rounded foot-rim, short concave lower body, cylindrical upper body, raised beaded edges around the body at the foot-rim, between the lower and upper body and at the lip-rim; the exterior of the spill-vase covered all over with a pale blue glaze, against which is reserved to the front of the upper body an irregular octagonal panel delicately painted in crimson with a rural scene showing a cottage surrounded by trees, the panel enclosed by tow gilt bands, one wide and one narrow, gilt bands around the beaded edges at the foot-rim, between the upper and lower body, and at the lip-rim.
